Frederic Vasseur, head of the Ferrari team, commented on the recent decision by the International Automobile Federation (FIA) regarding the prohibition of protective plates under the cars' floors.
He noted that the team had to alter the car's design despite the fact that the organization had previously confirmed the legality of these components.
I think it was the right attitude for us not to fight because I want to stay focussed on the championship and not on this kind of a discussion. But the approach was strange.

The FIA directive, which came into effect ahead of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, bans the use of protective elements that reduce wear on the car’s floor plate.
Earlier, it was announced that Formula 1 will allow for the participation of an 11th team in its competitions starting in 2026. Additionally, for the first time, all teams will be presented together for the upcoming season.
