Spanish driver Carlos Sainz is preparing to get back behind the wheel at the upcoming Formula 1 race in Australia, as reported by Marca.
Just two weeks ago, Sainz was hospitalized in Jeddah with appendicitis, underwent surgery, and was unable to participate in the race. Oliver Berman replaced Sainz and finished seventh.
It is expected that on Thursday Sainz will participate in media sessions at the Albert Park paddock, and on Friday he will hit the track. A final decision will be made by a medical delegate following an examination that Sainz will undergo in the next 24 hours.
During the season-opening race in Bahrain, Sainz finished in third place, behind the Red Bull drivers Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez.
