Mike Krack, the head of the Formula 1 team Aston Martin, commented on the incident involving Fernando Alonso during the Australian Grand Prix.
Due to dangerous driving that led to the crash of Mercedes driver George Russell, Alonso received a 20-second penalty and dropped to eighth place at the end of the race.
Fernando is a phenomenal race and he was using every tool in his toolbox to finish ahead of George — just like we saw in Brazil last year with Sergio [Pérez]. This is the Art of Motorsport at the highest level. He would never put anyone in harm’s way.
Mike Krack
Earlier, Fernando Alonso himself commented on Russell's crash at the Australian Grand Prix.
