F1 has scrapped the Chinese Grand Prix from the 2022 calendar due to COVID-19 based restrictions. Formula One announced that Imola will replace China’s Shanghai as the racing site in what will be called the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. The Emilia Romagna Grand Prix will take place on the 24th of April.
The new F1 calendar has included a record number of 23 Grand Prix. In the calendar, Australia, Japan, Singapore, and Canada also mark a return after the nations couldn’t host F1 due to the pandemic. Bahrain Grand Prix on 20 March will mark the start of the 2022 F1 calendar while Abu Dhabi will hold the concluding Grand Prix on 20 November 2022. The 35-week F1 window will finish three weeks earlier because of the FIFA World Cup that will start on 21 November.
