A competitive series saw an anti-climatic end as the hosts England obliterated New Zealand by a humongous margin. Batting first, England put on a massive 347 runs score with Tammy Beaumont’s century highlighting the effort. On the other hand, New Zealand succumbed to the pressure of chasing such a huge total and lost all their wickets for just 144.

Tammy Beaumont and Lauren Winfield-Hill began the proceedings with a 95 runs partnership. Heather Knight went for a duck but Sciver and Tammy continued to mount up runs. After Sciver fell, Amy Jones pushed the tempo and played a 46-ball 60 run innings. Beaumont and Jones fell when the score reached 268 but that only complicated things for New Zealand. Danni Wyatt’s six-laden 43 runs off 20 and Sophia Dunkley’s 25-ball 33 capped off a wonderful effort.

New Zealand lost two for just 38 and it looked clear that they wouldn’t be able to catch up to the big task. Then Maddy Green, Sattherwaite, and Sophie Devine, three of the most in-form batters for White Ferns, also fell and the scoreline read just 66 for 5. Knight and Dean cleaned up the lower-middle order and the tail to reduce New Zealand to just 144.

England won the series four-one. Heather Knight won Player of the Series making 214 runs in the five matches. For New Zealand, skipper Amy Sattherwaite top-scored with 173 runs in the series. Charlotte Dean finished as joint highest wicket-taker with ten in her debut series while New Zealand’s Rowe also claimed ten.
