England women beat New Zealand in the last over to claim the ODI series three-one. New Zealand batted first and put up 244 courtesy of Amy Sattherwaite, Katey Martin, Sophie Devine, Brooke Halliday, and Hannah Rowe. England had a slight wobble in the first fifteen overs or so but then Heather Knight led the chase and coupled with the middle-order to seal England’s ascendancy.

For New Zealand, Katey top-scored with 65 while Amy clasped a half-century as well. Brooke Halliday nineteen ball 28 runs innings and Hannah’s Rowe late strokes propelled New Zealand to a fighting total of 244. Charlotte Dean claimed three wickets for England, while Shrubsole and Davies shared a couple each.

England began with a 52 runs partnership between Lauren-Winfield Hill and Tammy Beaumont but Lauren got bowled by a lovely delivery of Rowe. Hannah didn’t get done there and roared back when Beaumont also got out when the score read 59. Nat Sciver didn’t last long either and Rowe once again had her LBW with England down three for 71.

This is when Amy Jones and Heather Knight cemented England’s position piling up 100 runs for the fourth wicket. Yet again, Hannah Rowe got out when Jones played a rash shot ending the stand. Dunkley continued to get out early and this time, Sattherwaite claimed her wicket. Knight and Wyatt added 53 runs but veteran Sophie Devine had other plans.

Devine got both Knight and Wyatt when England still needed 6 runs off the last over. Then Anya Shrubsole showed her batting skills and nailed a boundary and took a double to complete England’s win. Knight won Player of the Match for her 101 runs innings. Rowe led all wicket takers with four.
