German guard Dennis Schroeder has agreed to a one-year deal with the Boston Celtics which amounts to $5.9 million dollars. The move came in the wake of the blockbuster deal where the Lakers landed Russell Westbrook, who is a Superstar Point Guard. This move seemed imminent as Dennis didn’t take a four year $84 million contract offered by the Lakers during last season.
Dennis is a two-way player and has the ability to score in multiple ways. He spent five years with the Hawks after being drafted number 17 in the 2013 NBA Draft and then played for two years in Oklahoma City Thunder. Last year, he signed with the Lakers and averaged 15.4 PPG, 5.8 APG, and 3.5 RPG playing terrific basketball when the Lakers’ aces LeBron James and Anthony Davis remained out for long due to injury issues. The Celtics needed a Point Guard after Kemba Walker moved to the Knicks.
