Kevin Durant has opened up about the Kyrie Irving and Brooklyn Nets situation created out of a disagreement between the two parties in regards to vaccination. As Nets disallowed unvaccinated Kyrie from team participation due to a New York mandate that says that a worker must at least get a single vaccination jab to be eligible for work, Durant said that he respects the decision made by both Kyrie and the Nets.

The Brooklyn Nets could have never imagined that this could be the situation when the team formed an intimidating trio of Irving, Durant, and Harden. The three players have not shared the court much since the formation as all three of them remained injured at some point during the last season. And this season, Kyrie has expressed his unwillingness to get vaccinated citing his choice as an individual, not taking something that has been mandated.

Definitely want Kyrie to be around. I wish none of this stuff would happen, but this is the situation that we are in. Kyrie made his decision on what he wanted to do and he chose to do what he wanted to do, and the team did the same. It's on me to just focus on me, and do my job, and let those two parties handle that situation. I want our whole team together, and I want us to be at full strength, but sometimes it don't work out that way. But I am still positive that things will work out the best for both parties.
