England almost pulled off an incredible 257 runs chase in around 50 Overs and at one point, it looked like the Heather Knight and co. will ace chase. However, the English team lost their way as Annabel Sutherland produced an amazing spell in the middle and took the momentum away. Earlier, Beth Mooney made a bold declaration and left the window open and the English team kept threatening to reach the target. However, by the end of it, the team lost too many wickets in the pursuit of the chase, but ultimately Kate Cross was forced to play out the last over. Heather Knight got the Player of the Match award for her 168* and 48 runs innings.

What a five-game test series between Australia and England’s men teams couldn’t produce, the women’s match-up between the two nations did bring all elements in the play. All three results-win, loss, draw possible by the last over. Both captains showed brilliant spirit and I will keep asking till the last breath if women’s cricket can produce such scintillating contests, why is not the test match five days? Why don’t they play more often?
