There are huge doubts whether Perth can host the final test of the Ashes Series. The doubts have come in place due to the change of rules related to quarantine due to the COVID-19 situation and strict measures are in place. Thus, the fifth test can be moved from Perth to Melbourne and could end up being a day-night test match. Melbourne is also going to host the third test of the series. The Ashes will begin on 8 December and for now, the fixture for the fifth test is listed from 4 January to 9 January.
The thing about the Ashes and Cricket Australia is we have put in place very strict rules. We've said to them they need to have 14 days of quarantine, and that has to apply to all of the broadcast staff, all the cricket staff. They can't just bring wives and girlfriends with them, the same rules as we put in place for the AFL. It is up to them whether they want to adhere to those rules or not.
