Australia has named its squad for the first test versus England on Eighth December(As per Australia’s time zone). Alex Carey has carved out a place for himself in a wicketkeeping role and will make his debut on the big stage. All-rounder Cameroon Green who had a decent series against India around January this year also found a place for himself in the team.
The veteran trio of Pat Cummins, Josh Hazelwood, and Mitchell Starc will spearhead the pace bowling reserves while Nathan Lyon will be the sole spinner. The team is going to be captained by Pat Cummins who replaced Tim Paine. Travis Head edged out Usman Khwaja for the no. five spot.
