The boxing night of April 16 in London (Great Britain) featured a fight between Chinese Zhilei Zhang and Britain's Joe Joyce for the interim WBO heavyweight title.
The fight ended in the sixth round: after numerous missed punches, the referee did not allow Joyce to continue the fight and stated Zhang's victory by TKO.
Zhang, 39, had previously fought against Filip Hrgović of Croatia. Their fight took place on August 20, 2022. At the end of 12 rounds all judges gave the victory to Hrgović. The Chinese boxer has 25 wins (20 KOs), one loss and one draw.
Joyce, 37, had no losses up to that point and was on a 15-fight winning streak (14 KOs). In September 2022, he knocked out Joseph Parker in the 11th round.
