The 144th session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) was held in Costa Navarino, Greece, where it was unanimously approved to include boxing in the program of the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
The boxing competitions will be held under the auspices of World Boxing.
It’s worth noting that in 2023, the IOC excluded the International Boxing Association (IBA) from its list of recognized international federations. That same year, an alternative organization called World Boxing was established.
In February, the IOC temporarily recognized World Boxing as a governing body within the Olympic movement, overseeing boxing on a global level.
