World champion in three weight classes Gervonta Davis avoided jail time for a car accident with injuries and leaving the scene of the accident.
After the American boxer pleaded guilty to the charges, a Baltimore court sentenced him to three months of house arrest and three years of probation as well as 200 hours of community service.
Recall that the accident involving Davis occurred in November 2020 in Baltimore. Gervonta committed a traffic violation and his car crashed into another vehicle carrying four people, including a pregnant woman.
On the night of April 23, Gervonta Davis defended his WBA lightweight belt, defeating Ryan Garcia by a seventh-round knockout.
Davis, 28, had previously been in the ring against Hector Garcia this past January. That fight ended in favor of Gervonta by TKO in the ninth round. He has 29 wins (27 KOs) and no losses.
