Former world heavyweight champion American Deontay Wilder addressed his compatriot Andy Ruiz Jr. on social media, urging him to accept a fight with him.
Hey yo Andy. It’s time up for the games now, buddy, let’s get this fight on. Hey, you've been offered a hell of a lot of money. We offered you a hell of a lot of money. Now, one thing I don’t want is for you to allow others to dictate your career at this moment in time. If you allow others to dictate your life at this point in time, you’re gonna end up with nothing.

Ruiz responded to that message by saying, "Let's go".
Wilder, 37, stepped into the ring in October 2022 for a fight against Finnish boxer Robert Helenius. In this fight Deontay won by knockout in the first round. He has 43 wins (42 by KO), one draw and two losses.
Ruiz, 33, fought last September against Luis Ortiz of Cuba. Their fight lasted the whole distance and ended in Ruiz's favor by unanimous decision. He has 35 wins (22 by knockout) and two losses.
