The World Boxing Organization (WBO), which previously mandated Oleksandr Usyk to defend his title against Joseph Parker, has responded to the Ukrainian's wish to face Daniel Dubois in a rematch.

The WBO ordered the enforcement of its mandatory in the heavyweight division, Usyk-Parker, to be discharged accordingly. Not withstanding the foregoing, if a petition is lodged with the WBO requesting that the mandatory be 'stayed' until the unification takes place, that is a decision to be rendered by the Championship Committee. Per the discretion conferred to the Committee by our governing regulations, such request may be granted.

The WBO statement

Oleksandr Usyk, the holder of the WBC, WBA, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles, last stepped into the ring in December 2024, defeating Tyson Fury by unanimous decision. His record stands at 23 wins (14 by knockout) and no losses.
