Erislandy Lara, the WBA middleweight champion from Cuba, has no immediate plans to retire from professional boxing. His coach Ismael Salas shared this information in an interview with BoxingScene.

He is rejuvenated. Every time we work with him, he looks much better. We've had several conversations about his future, and one of the things that Lara has told me is that, unfortunately and fortunately, fighters live from boxing. He says that as long as his health allows him to train and fight, he will continue.

Lara is scheduled to fight Danny Garcia in a boxing event taking place on the night of September 15 in Las Vegas.

Lara's last bout was against Michael Zerafa in March of this year, where he won by knockout in the second round. His professional record now stands at 30 wins (18 by knockout), three losses, and three draws.
