Taiwanese boxer Lin Yu-ting has advanced to the finals of the 2024 Olympics in Paris in the women's featherweight category (up to 57 kg) after defeating Turkey's Esra Yildiz.

The match ended with a unanimous decision, marking a 5-0 victory for Lin. In the final bout, she will face Poland’s Julia Szeremeta, who triumphed over Filipino athlete Nesthy Petecio in the opposite semifinal with a score of 4-1.

The final match is set to take place on August 10.

Lin Yu-ting, alongside Algerian boxer Imane Khelif, is one of two participants in the women's boxing tournament at the 2024 Olympics who were previously suspended from the 2023 World Championships due to failing a gender test.

Despite this, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) determined that both athletes met the selection criteria and permitted their participation in the 2024 Games in Paris.

Earlier, Algerian boxer Imane Khelif urged fans to refrain from insults following the controversy surrounding her match against Italy's Angela Carini at the 2024 Olympics.
