Former IBF super middleweight champion Caleb Plant shared his predictions for the upcoming fight between Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Edgar Berlanga. The bout will headline a boxing event taking place on September 15 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, USA.
Plant told BoxingScene:
Canelo will go out there and do his thing. I don't feel like [Berlanga will come close to beating Alvarez]. He doesn't have the boxing skills, IQ, or chin. That's a recipe for disaster, but let him prove us wrong and show what he can do.
Alvarez last entered the ring in May 2024, defeating Jaime Mungia by unanimous decision. He has 61 wins (39 by knockout), two defeats and two draws on his record.
Berlanga had his last fight in February 2024, defeating Padraig McCrory by knockout in the sixth round. He has 22 wins (17 by knockout) and no defeats.
