Current UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira has expressed his readiness to step into the ring against Oleksandr Usyk, the holder of the WBA, WBO, IBO, and WBC heavyweight titles.
I’m the champ. I would like to fight the champ. So Oleksandr Usyk … I think it’s a very good fight. I love boxing. I see some people talking, ‘Oh, if it were pure boxing he would be lost’. Man, when you talk pure boxing, I feel great. I think I could fight these guys out there.

Pereira's next fight is against Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 313, set to take place on March 9 in Las Vegas, USA.
Pereira last entered the octagon against Khalil Rountree in October 2024 at UFC 307. That fight ended in Alex's favor by technical knockout in the fourth round. He currently holds a record of 12 wins and two losses.
