Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou has spoken out about his upcoming fight against Tyson Fury and revealed what role Mike Tyson played in his preparation.
Sport24 quotes Ngannou as saying:
Fury is a human being just like me, so I can beat him. Taking part in my Mike Tyson camp? It was very useful both technically and mentally. I mean, I do believe if I have one third of Mike Tyson's technique, I'll be the best boxer of my generation. What are my plans after the fight? To beat Fury again. Then beat someone else.
Recall, the fight between Fury and Ngannou will take place on October 28 in Saudi Arabia.
Fury last entered the ring in December 2022, defeating Derek Chisora by technical knockout in the tenth round. He has 33 wins (24 by knockout), one draw and no losses.
Ngannou last fought in January 2022 at UFC 270, defeating Ciryl Gane by unanimous decision of the judges. He has 17 wins and three losses on his MMA record.
