Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou believes that WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury of Britain is cheating by going into the fight with smaller gloves.
Recall, Fury and Ngannou will have a boxing rules bout on October 29 in Saudi Arabia.
MMA Junkie quotes Ngannou as saying:
I think he’s cheating. I’ve heard a lot of complaints about his gloves, that his gloves have no protection. Even when he fought Deontay Wilder, he complained about that. Derek Chisora complained about that, and that’s what we’re talking about with the team, the U.K. commission and the gloves. If you want us to fight bareknuckle, let’s go bareknuckle, but don’t give me 10-ounce gloves, and he wears eight or six-ounce gloves because he has no protection.
Ngannou last stepped into the cage in January 2022 against Ciryl Gane at UFC 270. In that confrontation, Francis won by unanimous decision of the judges. He has 17 wins and three losses on his record in MMA.
Fury's last fight was against Derek Chisora in December 2022. In this confrontation, Tyson won by technical knockout in the tenth round. He has 33 wins (24 by knockout), one draw and no losses on his record.
