Former WBO, WBA and IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua spoke out about the defeat of American Deontay Wilder to Chinese Zhilei Zhang.
Recall, on the night of June 2, Zhang knocked out Wilder in the sixth round at a boxing night in Saudi Arabia.
ProBox TV quotes Joshua as saying:
Am I disappointed with the defeat of Wilder? Na, it is what it is. Come again if you want, but he's got his family, and there's a life outside of boxing for him. I enjoy fighting. It's a blessing, and it doesn't last forever. That's why I say it with Wilder: If he wants to go again, give it another crack. But sooner or later Father Time will catch up with you, with everyone.
Joshua, 34, last fought in March 2024, defeating former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou by knockout in the second round. He has 28 wins (25 by knockout) and three losses on his record.
