Former two-time world boxing champion Anthony Joshua has stated that he has no intentions of retiring after his early loss to fellow countryman Daniel Dubois.
Joshua told the Evening Standard:
Probably you’re asking do I still want to continue fighting. Of course I want to continue fighting. We took a shot at success and we came up short. And what does that mean now? Are we going to run away? We’re gonna live to fight another day. That’s what I am, I’m a warrior.
Recall that Dubois secured a knockout victory over Joshua in the fifth round. Daniel's last fight before that was in June 2024, where he defeated Filip Hrgovic by technical knockout in the eighth round. His record now stands at 22 wins (21 by knockout) and 2 losses.
Before this match, Joshua fought in March 2024, where he knocked out Francis Ngannou in the second round. His overall record includes 28 wins (25 by knockout) and 4 losses.
