Most Valuable Promotions, the promotional company co-owned by Jake Paul, has addressed accusations suggesting that the boxing match between the YouTuber and Mike Tyson was rigged.
Rigging a professional boxing match is a federal crime in the United States of America. Paul vs Tyson was a professional match sanctioned by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR). Both fighters in good faith performed to the best of their abilities with the goal of winning the fight. There were absolutely no restrictions – contractual or otherwise – around either fighter.
Most Valuable Promotions' statement
It is worth mentioning that the eight-round fight between Paul and Tyson took place on November 16 as the main event of a boxing evening in Arlington, Texas, and ended with Jake Paul winning by unanimous decision.
Prior to this, Tyson had fought Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition match in November 2020, which went the distance and ended in a draw. Tyson boasts a record of 50 wins (44 by knockout) and seven losses.
In July 2024, Paul won against Mike Perry by technical knockout in the sixth round. He has a boxing record of 11 wins (seven by knockout) and one loss.
