The International Boxing Federation (IBF) has scheduled a fight for the interim world heavyweight title between Croat Filip Hrgovic and American Andy Ruiz.
Earlier, the IBF allowed Oleksandr Usyk, WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight champion, not to make a mandatory defense against Hrgovic. Recall that Usyk is negotiating a fight with WBC world champion Tyson Fury,
Hrgovic, 30, defeated Zhang Zhilei in August 2022 by unanimous decision. He has 15 wins (12 by knockout) and no losses.
Ruiz, 33, defeated Luis Ortiz in September 2022 by unanimous decision. He has 35 wins (22 by knockout) and two losses.
