On August 20, O'Malley won the UFC bantamweight title by defeating Aljamain Sterling by technical knockout in the second round.
Garcia, 24, lost to Gervonta Davis by seventh-round technical knockout in his last fight, which took place in April 2023. He has 23 wins (19 by knockout) and one loss on his record.
