Former interim WBC lightweight champion Ryan Garcia has received a one-year suspension and a hefty fine for failing a doping test before his fight with Devin Haney.

As reported by journalist Dan Rafael on social media, Garcia's attorneys have reached an agreement with the New York State Athletic Commission in which the boxer agrees to pay $1.1 million dollars to Golden Boy's promotional company. Haney is entitled to receive a percentage of that money. He is also fined $10,000 dollars. The result of their fight will be canceled.

Garcia, 25, defeated Haney by majority decision in April 2024. In May it became known that Ryan passed a positive test for ostarine, the result of his fight with Haney can be canceled. Garcia has 25 wins (20 by knockout) and one loss on his record.
