American boxer Ryan Garcia has spoken out regarding his upcoming fight against WBC super lightweight champion Devin Haney, which will take place on April 20 in Las Vegas (USA).
Garcia said in an interview with DAZN:
Not complicated. I've been boxing my whole life. Nothing that I'm going to see that I haven't seen before. I just have to execute. You can't have no mercy on Devin. That's the problem Lomachenko had. Devin is going to get badly hurt. That's why there's not going to be a rematch.
Garcia, 25, last stepped into the ring in December 2023, defeating Oscar Duarte by knockout in the eighth round. He has 24 wins (20 by knockout) and one loss on his record.
The 25-year-old Haney last fought against Regis Prograis in December 2023. In that fight, Devin won by unanimous decision. He has 31 wins (15 by knockout) and no losses.
