British heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury may become a contender for the championship belt if he resumes his career. This was stated by WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman in an interview with Sky Sports.
The organization is prepared to allow Fury to fight for the interim championship title against Agit Kabayel. The promotion company Top Rank hopes that Tyson will return to the ring for a bout against Anthony Joshua.
In December 2024, Fury faced Oleksandr Usyk in a rematch, where he lost by unanimous decision. Their first encounter in May 2024 also ended in a loss for Fury by decision.
Following two consecutive defeats, Fury decided to retire from professional boxing. His record stands at 34 wins (24 by knockout), two losses, and one draw.
