Former IBF world champion in three weight categories James Toney has spoken out about the holder of the WBA, WBO, IBO and IBF heavyweight titles, Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk.
Toney said in an interview with Marco Boxing:
Oh, Usyk is garbage. The right time, the right moment. If he was in my era he’d be getting destroyed left and right. Basically everybody today we’d destroy.
Usyk will next step into the ring against WBC champion Tyson Fury in a boxing night to be held on February 17, 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Usyk's last fight was against Daniel Dubois in August this year. In this confrontation Oleksandr won by knockout in the ninth round. He has 21 wins (14 by knockout) without a single defeat on his account in professional boxing.
