Dzhambulat Bizhamov, the captain of the Russian boxing team, shared insights about his transition to professional sports in an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net, drawing a comparison to Ukrainian boxer Vasiliy Lomachenko.

"I plan to start my professional career in the under-76 kg category. We will see later if I should move to a different division. I don’t need to cut a lot of weight, I optimally manage my weight and recover. This is normal for all boxers," said Bizhamov.

I need to gain experience. Professional boxing has a different rhythm and many aspects that amateurs don’t use. Vasiliy Lomachenko, a two-time Olympic champion, could fight for a world title in his second match. I haven't reached that level yet. I need to establish myself in the professional ranks, and championship titles will come soon.

The 23-year-old Bizhamov is a silver medalist of the World and European Championships, as well as a three-time champion of Russia. On September 6, he will have his second fight in his professional career. His opponent is Bakhromjon Fozilov from Uzbekistan.
