Undisputed heavyweight champion Claressa Shields has been cleared to continue her boxing career, but the Michigan Unarmed Combat Commission, will continue its investigation into her positive marijuana test following the fight against Danielle Perkins on February 2.

The commission has “dissolved” Shields' temporary suspension but retains the right to impose further sanctions based on the outcome of the investigation.

Shields last fought against Danielle Perkins in February this year, winning by unanimous decision after a full-distance bout.

Shields made her professional debut in November 2016 in Las Vegas, facing fellow American Franchón Crews-Dezurn. That match ended in a unanimous decision victory for Shields. She currently holds a record of 16 wins (three by knockout) and no losses.
