Timothy Bradley, a former world champion in two weight classes and now a commentator and analyst, weighed in on the news that Devin Haney has filed a lawsuit against Ryan Garcia.
Recall that Haney previously accused Garcia of unjust enrichment from their fight, as well as physical harm and fraud.
Bradley said, as reported by ProBox TV:
Who’s going to want to fight you [Haney] and give you that payday? The million and a half dollars they took from him, and then the year suspension. Let’s move forward. Now, Haney is bringing this back up. I don’t get it. Haney, you’re wasting your time. You’re wasting your money. You’re wasting other opportunities. Everybody is looking at you like you’re crazy.
The fight between Garcia and Haney took place in April of this year in Brooklyn. Initially, Ryan won by majority decision, but he was later suspended for a year after failing a drug test, leading to the stripping of his win against Haney. Garcia's professional boxing record stands at 24 wins (20 by knockout) and one loss.
