Boxing Hall of Fame member and promoter Robert Goodman dies at 83

Robert Goodman, who organized two Muhammad Ali fights, died at the age of 83. It was reported by the AP agency with reference to the statement of the promoter's family.

Goodman's cause of death was not disclosed, but he was known to have been hospitalized three months ago.

Goodman worked for promoter Don King's company for 25 years, and his father, Murray Goodman, is a member of the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF). This is the only father and son duo included in the IBHOF.

Muhammad Ali had his last fight against Trevor Berbick in December 1981. This confrontation lasted the whole distance and ended in Muhammad's defeat by unanimous decision of the judges.

In October 1980, Ali came out to fight against Larry Holmes. In this confrontation, Muhammad suffered an early defeat. Muhammad Ali passed away at the age of 74 in 2016. On his account in professional boxing he had 56 victories (37 by knockout) and five defeats.
