Vadim Kornilov, the manager of former WBA and IBO light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol, has stated that the boxer does not support the team's decision to file an appeal regarding the outcome of his fight with Artur Beterbiev.

After a general discussion with Dmitry about the protest... He does not support us in this matter. Dmitry agrees that there are some questions left after the fight, but he believes there should be a rematch, and the answers should be given in the ring.

He added, "However, we still intend to at least submit a request to review the judge's decision who scored it 8–4. I would understand that score if it were based on the total number of punches, but Cardini is a very experienced referee. He knows perfectly well that only clean punches that land count in boxing."

To recall, on October 12 in Saudi Arabia, Dmitry Bivol faced Artur Beterbiev for the title of undisputed world champion in the light heavyweight division. Bivol lost the match by majority decision (114-114, 115-113, 116-112).

Before this bout, Bivol last entered the ring in June 2024, where he defeated Malik Zinad by technical knockout in the sixth round. His professional record stands at 23 wins (12 by knockout) and 1 loss.

Artur Beterbiev last fought in January 2024, winning against Callum Smith by technical knockout in the seventh round. He boasts 21 wins (20 by knockout) with no losses.
