Sergei Ivanov, coach of Russian boxer David Avanesyan, accused WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford of rigging his gloves.
By the sixth round, Crawford had both his gloves torn. In fact, one glove, the left one, had a seam that was longer than 10 cm on the side, and the other one had its thumb completely torn. Both new gloves from an acclaimed company tear all of a sudden. It happens when there is reinforcement. Look closely at the picture where you can see both gloves. Both gloves are flat, both have huge rips. It looks a lot like they just poured some kind of powder - like plaster powder - in there, then gave it a shot of water and banged it against the wall. It turns out like two knuckles. There's no other way these gloves could have split.
