Saul Alvarez, the undisputed super middleweight world champion, explained the reason why he will fight David Benavidez only for $200 million.
Boxingnews24 quotes Alvarez as saying:
The only thing I see is that Benavidez is 25 lbs or 30 lbs heavier than me on the day of the fight. I have no problem with that, but if he wants me to fight him, it's $200 million.
Alvarez last entered the ring for a fight in September 2023 against Jermell Charlo. Saul won that fight by unanimous decision. He has 60 wins (39 by knockout), two losses and two draws.
Benavidez last fought against Demetrius Andrade in November 2023. In that fight, David won by technical knockout after his opponent refused to continue the fight. Benavidez has 28 wins (24 by knockout) and no losses.
