At the White House, U.S. President Joe Biden met with players from the Boston Celtics, the winners of last season's National Basketball Association (NBA).
During his welcoming speech, Biden made a gaffe by initially referring to the team as the Bulls, before correcting himself and asking the players, “You are the Celtics, right?”
This slip-up provoked laughter from some visitors. The President humorously remarked that he didn't understand how the basketball players ended up at the White House, saying they just showed up unexpectedly.
The Celtics players gifted Biden a personalized jersey with the number 46. As part of the traditional NBA champions’ visit to the White House, which dates back to 1963 when a team met with President John F. Kennedy, Biden took them on a tour of the Oval Office.
Previously, insider Bill Simmons reported that Amazon founder and billionaire Jeff Bezos is considering purchasing the Boston Celtics.
