American power forward William Sydney Davis hopes his experience playing across various leagues, including the NBA G League, will be a vital addition to Kenyan side Nairobi City Thunder, as they seek success in the Basketball Africa League (BAL) next year.

Davis, who can also play as a center, was signed by the Kenyan Basketball Federation (KBF) Premier League side as part of their squad for the Road to BAL 2025.

I am really excited to be in Kenya. This is my first time ever in Africa and so far, so good. I love everything about the country and the new team and I can’t wait to get started and hunt for victory with these boys. Of course I come in with a lot of experience and I want to use it to help the team and also help the younger players in the team.

Thunder will play in the BAL for the first time, and the acquisition of Davis, alongside two other international players, is testament to their ambitions. ‘Big Will’ as his new teammates now refer to him as, hopes they can achieve success together.

This is a really talented group, and I was pleasantly surprised when I started practice with them. They are really hungry and everyone wants to win. The team has made it clear about their ambitions with the BAL and I definitely want to play my role in helping them.
