Number one ranked Ashleigh Barty has once again lived up to her lofty reputation and has now claimed the Western & Southern Open title. She beat Switzerland’s Jil Teichmann 6-3, 6-1 to continue her dominant performance in the women’s tennis international events. She came into the game beating Angelique Kerber 6-2, 7-5 to advance her campaign. Meanwhile, Jil Teichmann came into the encounter after beating Karolina Pliskova 6-2, 6-4.
In the final game, she earned 5/14 Break Points compared to one out of two in case of Teichmann. She also won 33 receiving points in comparison to 13 by Jil Teichmann. Ashleigh Barty had a wonderful double set streak during the tournament in Cincinnati, continuing to dominate through all the rounds while stamping her authority in the Finals, meaning she finished the tournament without going through a single third set. Barty is also the reigning Wimbledon champion and has proven once again why she is the best tennis player in her arena.
