Senegal beat Uganda 93-55 to get a win in their first game during this year’s FIBA Afrobasket event. Senegalese men began as favourites and one can see why they are one of the best teams in the African continent. NBA player Gorgui Dieng headlined Senegal’s effort after putting up 19 points and 8 rebounds.
The game remained relatively close till halftime when Senegal edged out Uganda 40-31. However, an incredible third quarter run consisting of high-quality shots pressed Senegal’s advantage as they outscored Uganda 28-9. The lead of 28 through the third quarter got too much for Uganda to erase as they committed a whopping 24 turnovers.
