Two British heavyweights go to war in London in a world title fight. WBC Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury will defend his title against Derek Chisora in a trilogy bout. The fighters previously fought in 2011 and 2014, and Tyson Fury won both encounters. The bout is set to take place on 3 December 2022 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Bob Arum, Fury’s promoter, has said that only a loss to Chisora will stop his fighter from contesting for the undisputed status against Oleksandr Usyk. Tyson Fury and Derek Chisora have promised to put up a good show on the night, with Chisora suggesting that they agreed to go at each other from the first bell.

Tyson Fury

After announcing his retirement from boxing on the night he defeated Deontay Wilder last April, the undefeated Tyson Fury will be defending his WBC title against another opponent. “The Gypsy King” is ranked as the world's best active heavyweight by ESPN. ESPN also ranks him as the fourth best-active boxer, pound-for-pound. From announcing his retirement, he now has his eyes set on unifying the heavyweight titles - according to Arum - or fighting twelve random people next year (according to Tyson). In Fury vs Chisora I, Tyson won by unanimous decision. In the second fight, Chisora retired in the tenth round. The two-time heavyweight champion is regarded by many as the lineal champion. The 34-year-old has twenty-three knockouts in thirty-three fights.

For me that will never happen because I train very hard and respect any opponent that I've ever faced. Derek's going to come and try and knock me out, I'm going to try and knock him out. Every time you get in a boxing ring with a heavyweight, it's a risk. While we're in there, we're in fight mode.

Derek Chisora

In June, Chisora’s split decision win over Kubrat Pulev reversed three consecutive losses. The 38-year-old British fighter has not cracked a world championship, but he has garnered a lot of success at the regional level in his career. He has held the British, Commonwealth, and European heavyweight titles at different times. In the lead-up to the fight, Chisora has refused to speak trash at Fury, praising the champion for calling him up and making the fight.

I don't see any reason why the Usyk fight with Tyson Fury can't be made speedily. That fight will happen next unless Mr Chisora lands his punch. Don't discount Chisora. Chisora's a hell of a fighter. He has a tremendous punch. He gave Usyk life and death. You can't in this business count your chickens before they're hatched. Chisora will answer back. It's a great, great fight. It really has a lot of interest. Two big heavyweights getting in the ring trying to knock each other's head off. Nothing is more exciting.
