It's bon appetit in Paris with the UFC Paris main event featuring a tasty clash between homeboy Ciryl Gane and Sergey Spivak of Moldova. Ciryl Gane suffered a humiliating loss to Jon Jones last time, while Spivak is coming off an impressive win over Derrick Lewis early this year. A win for the number seven-ranked Spivak will see him inch closer to contention. UFC Fight Night: Ciryl Gane vs. Sergey Spivak is held this Saturday at the Accor Arena and is available on ESPN+.

Ciryl Gane
"Bon Gamin" is currently number two in the UFC heavyweight rankings. The Frenchman has lost only two professional MMA fights, to former heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou and current champion Jon Jones. Trained in Muay Thai, Gane is an accomplished striker. The 33-year-old, who made his UFC debut in 2019, has his major flaw in wrestling as painfully brought to bear in his losses. Against Ngannou, Gane was leading on the cards after two rounds before Ngannou switched to wrestling and controlled the rest of the contest to edge the decision. Facing Jones earlier this year, the Frenchman could not deal with the UFC great, who focused solely on wrestling and wasted no time getting the first-round submission.

Sergey Spivak
The Moldovan Heavyweight is on a three-match winning streak. Since losing to Tom Aspinall in 2021, Sergey Spivak has churned out two knockouts and one submission. "Polar Bear" made his UFC debut against Walt Harris in 2019, losing to a first-round TKO for the first defeat of his pro career. In his sophomore fight, he adopted a fighting strategy that negated the power of Tai Tuivasa before mounting the Aussie and executing an arm-triangle choke. He resorted to the choke again to submit Derrick Lewis in their fight early this year.
