Telstra signs final $11b deal with NBN Co
Telstra has reached a final agreement with the government over an $11 billion deal to transfer its fixed-line operations to the National Broadband Network. Shareholders will vote on the deal on October 18. Optus has also agreed to migrate its HFC customers onto the network.
Huawei to help India set up equipment lab
Huawei will help the Indian government set up a facility that will test the security of imported telecom gear, documents show. While plans to require equipment be vetted were seeded when the government temporarily banned the import of Chinese telecom gear last year, no other international vendor had reportedly been willing to fulfil the role due to intellectual property concerns.

Winklevoss twins bow out of Facebook court case
The Winklevoss twins have decided not take their appeal in the court battle over the ownership of Facebook to the US Supreme Court. The twins had been arguing that the $65 million cash and share settlement they had accepted in 2008 was based on a lowball estimate of the value of the company.
HTC to launch 4G smartphone, tablet on July 1
HTC has announced plans to launch an Android-based 4G smartphone and tablet - respectively named the Evo 4G+ and the Flyer 4G - in South Korea on July 1.
