India's DoT looks to US agencies to intercept encrypted messages from BlackBerry, Gmail, Nokia and Skype
The DoT has sought the expertise of Interpol and US agencies on intercepting encrypted communications from BlackBerry, Google's Gmail, Nokia Pushmail and Skype, among others.
Twitter crashes after 16,000 New Year tweets per second
Social networking site Twitter was out of action for over an hour in Britain after it was overloaded with New Year messages. The crash coincided with midnight celebrations in Japan when revellers were sending a record 16,197 tweets per second, the Daily Mail reported Sunday.
Samsung‘s Galaxy Note hits 1m sales mark
Samsung Electronics said its global sales of Galaxy Note devices surpassed 1 million in just two months. Samsung said the numbers represent Galaxy Note handsets supplied to mobile operators around the world since the device‘s debut at the end of October.
Sprint extends LightSquared deadline to get FCC nod
Sprint Nextel Corp extended a December 31 deadline for LightSquared, with which it may share infrastructure, to get regulatory clearance for operating a planned telecoms network.
Amazon sells 1 million Kindles each week in December
Online retailer Amazon.com said it sold more than one million Kindle devices per week during the month of December, implying that it might have sold more than 4 million Kindles during December.
