(Associated Press via NewsEdge) Vivendi has offered to buy Deutsche Telekom's stake in Polish mobile operator Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa (PTC) for 2.5 billion euros ($3.2 billion), the French media and telecoms group said.

The offer is an apparent bid to settle a long-running dispute between Vivendi and Deutsche Telekom over control of PTC, which has gone repeatedly before Polish and Austrian courts.

Deutsche Telekom contends that it owns 98% of PTC after exercising an option to buy a 48% stake from a holding company jointly controlled by Vivendi and Polish conglomerate Elektrim.

Vivendi argues, however, that the sale contravenes earlier court rulings and is void.
