Carrier-grade full stack communications platform Telnyx has completed a round-the-world ring with the opening of a point of presence in Singapore, its first in Asia.

The Singapore PoP is the ninth in the voice and messaging platform’s international facilities-based communications infrastructure.

Telnyx's communications network routes calls over private connectivity for applications and next-generation communications companies. The network currently consists of 55,000 square meters of private fiber spanning North America, Europe and now Asia.

With the expansion of the MPLS fiber backbone into Singapore complete, Telnyx now offers access to local, national and toll-free numbers in more than 60 countries.

“Each point-of-presence contains all the physical computing and routing infrastructure required to maintain an intelligent, low-latency communications network,” Telnyx senior network engineer Jason Craft said.

“It can take as long as 18 hours to fully assemble, but with Singapore in place, all of Asia is now open to Telnyx clients.”

The company now plans to focus on establishing PoPs in Sydney and Miami as part of plans to start linking Australia and Latin America to its network.
