Anand Chandrasekher joins Qualcomm as CMO

Qualcomm has appointed Anand Chandrasekher as CMO, reporting to president and COO Steve Mollenkopf.

Chandrasekher is a seasoned global operating and management executive with a proven track record in strategic planning, product development and marketing.

Most recently, he was SVP, GM for the ultra mobility group at Intel, with responsibility for the Intel Atom processor family.

During his nearly 25-year tenure at Intel, Chandrasekher held a variety of leadership roles including head of Intel’s worldwide sales and marketing group, corporate VP of the mobile platforms group and co-general manager for the Intel486 processor division.

He is best known for his pioneering efforts on the Intel Centrino platforms.

CASBAA taps Christopher Slaughter as new CEO designate

The CASBAA board of directors has announced the appointment of a new leadership team.

Christopher Slaughter has been appointed CEO designate, while John Medeiros will be promoted to chief policy officer and senior government relations advisor to the board.

The new team will be completed by Jill Grinda, who is newly appointed as EVP, focusing on operations and CASBAA's advertising initiatives.

Current CEO Simon Twiston Davies will remain in place and work with the new CASBAA management team until December 31.

Akamai strengthens Asian team

Cloud platform provider Akamai has recruited new country managers in Japan and Korea.

Shinji Tokunaga will lead all sales, services and marketing for Akamai in Japan. Tokunaga has over 10 years of executive leadership experience with multi-national companies including Novell Japan and Borland Japan.

Jin-Woong Kim has joined Akamai with over ten years of senior-level experience with global businesses such as Compuware Korea and IBM Korea. He will manage Akamai Korea’s operations and business development strategies.
