NTT Com reshuffles executive team
NTT Communications has appointed Tetsuya Shoji as its president and CEO. Shoji most recently oversaw the group’s sales and corporate management as senior vice president.
He takes over from Akira Arima, who had been president and CEO for five years and will become a senior vice president responsible for corporate advising.
The appointments are part of a broader management reshuffling at the Japanese telco, which includes two senior executive vice presidents, three executive vice presidents, 10 SVPs and three statutory auditors.
All the appointments take effective on June 19.
Singtel Advertising names ad sales director
Singtel Advertising, a media platform under Singtel’s Group Consumer unit, has appointed Melvin Yong as director of advertising sales.
Yong will be responsible for leading the advertising sales team. In this role, he will he will be instrumental in driving sales of advertising inventory generated by Singtel services offered on various platforms such as Singtel TV, NewsLoop and insing.com.
Yong will be reporting to Anurag Dahiya, head of content and advertising sales.
A 17-year veteran in the media and advertising scene, Melvin joins from CJ E&M, a Korean entertainment and media content conglomerate, where he set up new sales teams and developed the sales and marketing strategy for each market in Asia.
He began his career in the media industry with MediaCorp and has held senior roles in media consulting, sales and partnerships.
GCX taps Lorraine Lettieri to be president of North America
Lorraine Lettieri has joined Global Cloud Xchange as president of North America. In her new role, Lettieri will be responsible for driving the company’s business strategy across the United States including wholesale and enterprise markets.
Lettieri joins GCX with more than 25 years of telecom experience in global sales management and business development.
Most recently, she was head of sales at BT Global Services – East Region, where she was instrumental in driving growth across the Enterprise business and building strategic partnerships.
Prior to joining BT, Lettieri had worked for telecom companies including Level 3 Communications, Sprint, Sprint International and Global One.
Paul Henaghan named president for EMC South East Asia
EMC has appointed Paul Henaghan as president of EMC South East Asia (SEA), effective immediately. He succeeds Tom Zack, who retired in early June.
Based in Singapore, Henaghan reports to David Webster, EMC president of Asia Pacific and Japan, and is responsible for sales, strategy and business development across the region.
Paul has over 15 years of experience in the software industry, where he held senior sales and business leadership roles. He joins EMC from ACI Worldwide where he was senior vice president for Asia Pacific and Japan region, responsible for the organization’s operations across the region.
Purple WiFi appoints ASEAN regional manager
Cloud-based social Wi-Fi software company Purple WiFi has appointed Collin Tan as regional manager for ASEAN, based in Singapore.
In this role, Tan will be responsible for all Purple WiFi’s business in the ASEAN region, working to develop the distributors and reseller channels across countries in the region. He will report to Allen Pan, vice president of Asia Pacific.
Prior to joining Purple WiFi, Tan was most recently managing director of Singapore start-up, 1Care Global Pte Ltd, providing after sales services, such as equipment protection and extended warranty.
